Residency Periods

Our residency program is a unique opportunity to bring talents together and spark new ideas. A new stage for creativity, with the ambition to become a benchmark for artists from across Italy and around the world.
It’s not just about producing shows, but about creating a genuine connection with the community. Artists don’t work behind closed doors; they immerse themselves in the life of Budrio, offering workshops, open rehearsals, and performances.
Each year, we will select the best projects with the help of the public, invited to become co-creators of our cultural program.
The Torri dell’Acqua in Budrio provide the ideal space: a unique environment with accommodations and technical equipment, along with the opportunity to work in the local theater.

Community work
The project La Memoria dell’Acqua aims to create a participatory archive of oral micro-stories, photographs, images, and memories from the Budrio area and its surroundings, spanning from 1912 to the present.
The goal is to create, together with the Budrio community, a collective work made of poetry, music, and images, composed from the collected materials and presented at the Torri dell’Acqua in March 2026.
Drawing inspiration from the socio-engineering function of the cistern (collection, preservation, and distribution of water), from the Budrio area’s connection to water, and from the many analogies between the theme of “oral memory” and the element of water, the project aims to serve as a “cistern” for a constellation of narratives that create a temporary, hyper-local, creative, and emotional mosaic of the collective history of the town and its surroundings.
